In short: Sowlif is an adults-only app for users aged 18 and over. We operate a zero-tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation, child sexual abuse material (CSAM), grooming, and any behaviour that endangers a minor. Reporting and blocking tools are built into the app, violating content is removed and the accounts behind it are permanently banned, and we report confirmed cases to the relevant authorities as required by law.
1. Our commitment to child safety
Sowlif is operated by Dardesh, registered in Turkey. We treat the protection of children from sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE) as a fundamental, non-negotiable responsibility that takes precedence over any consideration of growth or engagement.
This page sets out our published standards. Sowlif's management is fully committed to them. We undertake to:
- Prevent Sowlif from being used for any form of child sexual abuse, exploitation or endangerment.
- Detect and remove such content and behaviour promptly once we become aware of it.
- Permanently ban any account involved in it, without warning and without refund.
- Report confirmed cases to the relevant authorities and cooperate fully with law enforcement.
- Treat every child-safety report as our highest-priority queue.
- Review these standards and our in-app safety tooling on a regular basis.
These standards form part of our Terms of Use and apply to every user and to all content on Sowlif: profiles, statuses, photos, private messages, voice and video calls, display names and bios.
2. What is prohibited , zero tolerance
The following are strictly forbidden on Sowlif. A minor means anyone under 18, or under the age of majority in their country, whichever is higher:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM): creating, uploading, sending, soliciting, storing, sharing or promoting any image, video, drawing, text or AI-generated content that depicts a minor in a sexually explicit or suggestive manner.
- Sexualization of minors: any comment, description or content that sexualizes a minor, including in profiles, statuses and messages.
- Grooming: contacting a minor, or someone believed to be a minor, in order to build a relationship as a precursor to sexual abuse or exploitation.
- Sextortion: threatening to publish intimate content of a minor in order to coerce further content, money or anything else of value.
- Trafficking and exploitation: facilitating or promoting child trafficking, child sex tourism, child marriage, or the exploitation of minors for labour or prostitution.
- Solicitation: requesting intimate images or videos from a minor, or attempting to arrange a meeting with a minor for a sexual purpose.
- Other child endangerment: bullying, threatening or extorting a minor, encouraging self-harm, or publishing a minor's personal information (doxxing).
- Impersonating a minor or creating an account in a minor's name or using their photos.
- Off-platform referral: posting links, codes or handles that lead to child exploitative material elsewhere.
Enforcement: any account found to be involved in the above is permanently and immediately banned without prior warning, the violating content is removed, the necessary evidence is preserved, and the case is escalated to the relevant authorities. These decisions are not open to appeal, and no subscription fees or coins are refunded.
3. Minimum age: 18
Sowlif is exclusively for people aged 18 and over. Minors may not create an account or use the service under any circumstances. Sowlif has no child-directed mode and no content directed at children.
How we enforce this:
- A date of birth is required at sign-up, and registration is refused if the user is under 18.
- The app is rated 18+ in the app stores and is never marketed to minors.
- On any report or credible indication that an account holder is under age, the account is suspended immediately pending verification, and we may request proof of age.
- If under-age use is confirmed, the account and its data are deleted, as described in our Privacy Policy.
- Re-registration after such a deletion is prohibited, and we take measures to prevent ban evasion.
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created a Sowlif account, write to the address in section 11 and we will delete the account and its data without delay.
4. Our standards against grooming and unwanted contact
Sowlif is built on consent-first contact, which is in itself a structural safeguard against grooming:
- No chat without acceptance: nobody can message you until you have accepted their friend request. There are no open direct messages from strangers.
- Immediate blocking: you can block any user at any time; they can no longer see your profile, message you or call you.
- No ban evasion: approaching someone who has blocked you via another account is a separate violation that results in a permanent ban.
- Pattern monitoring: we monitor signals associated with grooming, such as mass friend requests, repeated reports against a single account, and attempts to move a conversation off-platform quickly.
- Reporter confidentiality: we never disclose a reporter's identity to the person they reported.
Requesting or sending intimate content without the other person's consent is prohibited even between adults, and sexually explicit content is banned on Sowlif altogether under our Acceptable conduct rules.
5. How to report a child-safety concern in the app
Reporting and blocking tools are available to every user inside the Sowlif app, free of charge and without contacting us first. If you encounter content or behaviour that endangers a child, report it immediately from the nearest place:
5.1 Where the Report action lives
- From a profile: open the user's profile and tap Report Profile.
- From a chat: open the conversation, tap the options icon at the top of the screen and choose Report , or long-press any message and choose Report.
- From Discover: tap the card's options in the Discover screen and choose Report.
- During a voice or video call: tap Report on the call screen.
In the report dialog, pick the closest reason , for example Inappropriate content or Abuse , and state clearly in the description field that the report concerns the safety of a minor. That wording routes the report to the top of our review queue. Include what you saw, where and roughly when.
5.2 Blocking
- To block someone: open their profile and tap Block user.
- To manage blocks: go to the Friends screen and open the Blocked list, where you can review or unblock.
Blocking takes effect instantly and cuts off all contact, but it is not a substitute for reporting: only a report reaches our review team and allows us to act against the account. Always report first, then block.
5.3 Do not re-share the content
Do not forward, save or share any content you suspect is child sexual abuse material, even to report or document it , doing so is a criminal offence in most countries. Reporting inside the app, or describing the incident and the username to us, is enough.
6. Reporting by email
If you do not have a Sowlif account, cannot use in-app reporting, or want to contact our child-safety team directly, write to:
To help us act quickly, include as much of the following as you can:
- The username, profile link or Sowlif ID of the account you are reporting.
- What happened, roughly when, and where it occurred (chat, status, profile, call).
- How to reach you, if you would like an update on your report.
Do not attach any image or video you suspect is child sexual abuse material. A written description is entirely sufficient; we can retrieve the content from our own records.
We treat child-safety reports as our highest priority and commit to acting on them within 24 hours of receipt.
If a child is in immediate danger, contact your local police or emergency services first. Reporting to us is not a substitute for contacting the authorities when there is an imminent risk.
7. What happens after a report
- Immediate triage: child-safety reports are automatically placed in the highest-priority queue and reviewed ahead of everything else.
- Human review: a trained reviewer examines the report, the content, and the reported account's history.
- Precautionary action: where there is serious suspicion, the account is suspended and the content hidden immediately, pending completion of the review.
- Decision: once confirmed, the content is deleted and the account is permanently banned, with measures taken to prevent the holder returning under a new account.
- Evidence preservation: we retain the content and associated data to the extent necessary for reporting and investigation, in line with applicable law and our data retention policy. Such data is held under restricted access available only to a small number of authorised staff.
- External reporting: we notify the relevant authorities as described in section 8.
Malicious reports: knowingly false reporting , particularly on child-safety matters , is a serious breach of our Terms and may result in the reporter's account being banned.
8. Legal compliance and reporting to the authorities
We comply with all applicable child protection and CSAE laws, both in Turkey where the service is operated and in the countries where Sowlif is available.
When we detect or confirm CSAE content or behaviour:
- We report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) via the CyberTipline, the international channel that receives reports of child sexual abuse material and refers them to law enforcement in the relevant country.
- We report to the competent local authorities in Turkey, including the official channel for reporting illegal online content (ihbarweb.org.tr), and to law enforcement in the jurisdiction relevant to the incident.
- We respond to valid legal requests from law enforcement and judicial authorities and cooperate fully with child-safety investigations.
- We preserve evidence in the form required for investigation, including in cases where the content is removed from the app or the account is deleted.
We do not wait for a user report to take these steps: content of this kind that we discover ourselves is handled and reported in exactly the same way.
9. Preventive measures built into Sowlif
- An age gate at sign-up that prevents under-18s from creating an account.
- A consent-based model: no conversation opens before a friend request is accepted, so there are no messages from strangers.
- Sexually explicit content is banned outright on Sowlif, for adults and minors alike.
- Automated and manual filtering of uploaded content and profiles, with human review of flagged cases.
- Report and block tools at every point where users interact.
- A 24-hour action commitment on every abuse report, with top priority for child-safety reports.
- Permanent bans and re-registration prevention for anyone who breaches these standards.
- Periodic review of these standards and of our safety processes whenever app features or regulatory requirements change.
10. Reporting directly to independent hotlines
You can always report directly to the authorities, alongside reporting to us or instead of it:
- If a child is in immediate danger: contact your local police or emergency number right away.
- NCMEC CyberTipline: report.cybertip.org , accepts reports from anywhere in the world.
- INHOPE: inhope.org , directory of national hotlines for reporting child abuse material, by country.
- Turkey , İhbarweb: ihbarweb.org.tr , the official channel for reporting illegal online content.
- Internet Watch Foundation (IWF): report.iwf.org.uk
11. Child safety point of contact
We maintain a dedicated point of contact for child-safety matters, which any user, parent, guardian, researcher, law enforcement agency or app store may contact:
- Operator: Dardesh, Turkey.
- Child safety (CSAE) contact: childsafety@dardesh.xyz
- General abuse reports: report@sowlif.app
- General support: support@dardesh.xyz
For law enforcement: send legal requests to the child-safety address above, stating the requesting agency and the legal basis. Such requests are prioritised.
12. Updates to these standards
We review these standards periodically and whenever Sowlif's features or the applicable legal and regulatory requirements change, including app store policies on child sexual abuse and exploitation. Any updated version is published on this page with a revised "Last updated" date above.
